Jurgen Klopp would undoubtedly love to have a settled roster before his team opens the new Premier League season at Stamford Bridge in just over two weeks, so any outstanding transactions should conceivably be completed as soon as possible.
Romeo Lavia, a 19-year-old defensive midfielder for Southampton, is reportedly a target for the Reds, and as Football Transfers points out, there have also been discussions with Fluminense regarding Andre.
The report suggests that the Brazilian outfit want €25m for 80% of the 22-year-old’s economic rights and future add-ons. It is obvious that Liverpool could pay that sum, but Klopp faces a problem in that the player won’t be able to leave his current club until the end of their current campaign, which would delay the acquisition of Andre until the following transfer window.
Fulham is also said to be interested in his services, although they would encounter the same issue.
Perhaps an offer beyond the asking price could convince Fluminense to give their guy a summer move because the Reds urgently need personnel in place.
That is not guaranteed, though, and Klopp might end up looking elsewhere for reinforcements.
