Manchester City and Arsenal are set to kick off the 2023 FA Community Shield, marking the start of the new English Premier League season with a blockbuster clash between these two heavyweights.

Manchester City comes into this game riding high on the success of their treble-chasing campaign in the previous season. They secured the Premier League title, the Emirates FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League. However, they will be missing their talismanic midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, due to injury. Despite this setback, City’s attacking prowess remains formidable, and they will be eager to make a strong statement as they start the new season.

On the other hand, Arsenal will be brimming with confidence after their impressive performance in the 2022-23 English Premier League season. They finished as runners-up, trailing City by a mere five points. Furthermore, Arsenal has strengthened their squad with early signings, including the likes of Kai Havertz and Declan Rice, adding depth and quality to their team. The Gunners will be looking to avenge their previous losses to City and kick off their campaign with a convincing victory.

Exciting Battle of Attackers

Both teams boast attacking talent, promising an enthralling encounter. Arsenal’s new signing, Leandro Trossard, is expected to play a crucial role in their attacking setup, adding even more excitement to the mix.

Kickoff Time

The 100th edition of the Community Shield promises to be a spectacle for football fans worldwide. The highly anticipated match will take place on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Wembley Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 4 PM Nigerian time.
