Real Madrid are believed to be the heavy favourites to sign Kylian Mbappe, whether he leaves PSG this summer or the next one. The World Cup winner seems almost certain to leave the French capital though. And unlike other times, on this occasion, it looks like the Ligue 1 champions are pushing for his departure as well.
Mbappe’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2024. So unsurprisingly, PSG want him to leave in this window so that they do not miss out on a significant transfer fee.
Agreeing on a transfer this summer will not be simple though. There have been suggestions that Mbappe has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid. As a result, the possibility of him spending the season out on loan has not been ruled out either.
As reported by the Daily Star, Mbappe’s representatives have held discussions with Premier League clubs over a potential loan deal this summer for the World Cup winner. The Frenchman would be willing to spend a season out on loan in the Premier League before making his dream move to Real Madrid.
Clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool have been linked with Mbappe in recent weeks, with regard to potential loan moves this summer. It remains to be seen if something transpires over the coming weeks.
Of course, the possibility of Real Madrid making a transfer bid and signing Mbappe this summer has not been ruled out either. Although, Los Blancos might decide to wait a year and try to sign him as a free agent a year later, but there would be risk involved in that strategy.
At this point in time, Mbappe staying on at PSG for another season would not be ideal. But it is very much possible as well.
