According to RMC Sport, Chelsea and Manchester City are interested in signing Michael Olise from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that Chelsea have already made an offer of €30 million (£26 million) for Olise, who was described as “outrageous” by Palace central midfielder Will Hughes
The Frenchman, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, has reached an agreement in principle with Chelsea.
However, the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are waiting to see how the 21-year-old recovers from his injury.
RMC Sport has claimed that Olise has “a slight preference” for Chelsea amid interest from City, who won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League last season.
Beating Manchester City to Michael Olise signing would be a coup for Chelsea
We believe that if Chelsea are able to sign Michael Olise ahead of Manchester City, then it would be a huge statement from the Blues.
City are (arguably?) the best team in the world.
The Citizens play (arguably?) the best football on the planet and have one of the best managers of all time, Pep Guardiola.
Chelsea will not play in the UEFA Champions League next season and may not challenge for the Premier League title.
Yet Olise, who has played seven times for the France Under-21 national team, reportedly prefers Chelsea to City.
That is massive for the London club.
It will be interesting to see if City try to convince the French youngster to move to the Etihad Stadium and snub a potential transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Olise made 31 starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for Palace last season.
The attacker scored two goals and gave 11 assists in those games.
