The defensive midfielder only joined Arsenal in January, completing a shock, deadline day move from rivals Chelsea for a fee of £12million.
It was felt however that the Italian international was always going to be a short-term solution with Mikel Arteta expected to bring in a new player in his position come the summer.
And that is exactly what happened with Declan Rice signing from West Ham for a club record £105m.
With Rice and Thomas Partey ahead of him in the pecking order, and with just a year left on his contract, there has bene speculation that Jorginho could move on from the Emirates before the transfer window closes.
Back in June, the 31-year-old was heavily linked with Lazio where he’d be able to reunite with his former Napoli and Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri, but the player publicly stated that he was happy at Arsenal.
Now Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos, has revealed that there has been further interest in his player since then, but his stance has not changed and he would like the speculation to come to an end.
‘I’m sure, Jorginho will stay at Arsenal. He’s happy in England. Let’s move on,’ Santos told TMW, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
‘I had some calls from Saudi and also Spanish clubs like him but he’s staying at Arsenal, it’s decided.’
Many Premier League stars have departed for the riches of the Saudi Pro League this summer, including the likes of Fabinho, Riyad Mahrez, Kalidou Koulibaly and Jordan Henderson.
