The transfer window has just two weeks left and there are still a host of moves on the table following a record-breaking move for Moises Caicedo.
He would have been an interested spectator as Chelsea drew 1-1 with Liverpool and the midfielder has since completed his move to Stamford Bridge for a British record fee despite late interest from the Reds.
Manchester United are still working on new recruits – namely Sofyan Amrabat – and have had scouts in France over the weekend but may have to sell a few more players first, with Harry Maguire yet to complete his move to West Ham.
And Arsenal are facing offers from Saudi Arabia for Brazilian defender Gabriel, who was only a substitute in their opening day win over Nottingham Forest. Spurs are also keen on an unwanted Gunners star.
Lavia ‘felt like Liverpool’s second choice’
Romeo Lavia is set to join Chelsea from Southampton this summer after reportedly becoming disillusioned with Liverpool’s approach to signing him.
Chelsea agreed a fee of £53m plus £5m in add-ons for the 19-year-old midfielder on Tuesday evening. He is now poised to follow in the footsteps of Moises Caicedo by rejecting Liverpool in favour of joining Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Chelsea accused of ‘crossing the line’ over Olise
Crystal Palace are reportedly unhappy with Chelsea over their pursuit of Michael Olise after activating a release clause in the winger’s contract.
Reports earlier on Tuesday indicated an official bid has been lodged for the playmaker, with the £35m sum enough to meet a release clause described as “complex” by The Mail. The same publication reports that Palace have let Chelsea know of their dissatisfaction at how things have turned out, believing their London rivals have ‘crossed the line’ in terms of transfer etiquette.
Chelsea agree Lavia fee
Chelsea have agreed a fee of £53m plus £5m in add-ons for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.
The midfielder, who only joined Southampton from Manchester City last summer, was also a target for Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp’s side had a bid accepted for the Belgian youngster but could be about to lose out to Chelsea for yet another target.
Maguire to West Ham off
Harry Maguire’s move to West Ham is now not happening, according to multiple reports.
Manchester United had agreed to sell Maguire for £30million, but the move has fallen apart. Sources in Maguire’s camp have said that it was never as close as had previously been reported, while his £190,000-a-week wages were also blamed.
The England defender will stay and fight for his place instead.
