SportsZone are reporting that Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah (31) has agreed personal terms with PIF-funded Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad. The free-scoring left-footed striker would reportedly put pen to paper over a three-year contract worth $240m in total. Salah is currently tied to Jürgen Klopp’s side with a contract set to expire in 2025 since a contract extension he signed last year. SportsZone broke the news this morning that Al-Ittihad are increasingly confident of landing the 31-year-old and having him link up with N’Golo Kanté and Karim Benzema.
The outlet goes as far as saying that Liverpool and the Jeddah-based club have entered into talks these last few hours to discuss any deal for the Reds’ No.11. So far, Salah has started both of Liverpool’s Premier League games this season. He opened his account in Liverpool’s 3-1 home win against Bournemouth last Saturday. SportsZone understands that Salah won’t force a move away from the club with which he won the 2018-19 Champions League and the 2019-20 Premier League. Instead, the Egyptian would be ready to stay at Anfield if Liverpool doesn’t greenlight his move to Al-Ittihad. The Reds are due to face PIF-owned Newcastle United on Saturday for Premier League’s third gameweek.
