André breakthrough is dream Liverpool transfer end as Jürgen Klopp already got own Andrea Pirlo

Liverpool has already conducted some excellent business this summer. As we look at today's headlines, an André breakthrough would top it off for Jürgen Klopp.

Liverpool is now preparing for the third clash of the new Premier League season, as Jürgen Klopp lines his squad up to face a tough Newcastle United side on Sunday.

The Magpies have enjoyed a solid start to the new campaign, beating Unai Emery’s Aston Villa side 5-1 in their opening game and pushing Manchester City to the very end in their 1-0 loss to the treble winners.

While one eye is on the upcoming clash for Liverpool, the other will be on the transfer market as the Reds look to add to their squad prior to the end of the closing of the window on September 1.

Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endō have all arrived through the door at Anfield but after missing out on a number of top targets such as Roméo Lavia and Moisés Caicedo, further transfer activity is expected.

Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat and long-term target Ryan Gravenberch continue to be linked with a move to Merseyside and could be two names to watch as we approach deadline day.

With constant activity going on both on and off the pitch, here are the two Liverpool.com stories from today that you shouldn’t miss.

Dominik Szoboszlai tipped to play new Liverpool role

New signing Dominik Szoboszlai has hit the ground running for the Reds already and played a key role in the 3-1 win against Bournemouth last weekend, after winning the penalty which resulted in Mohamed Salah giving his side the lead.

Speaking exclusively to Liverpool.com, Szoboszlai’s boss for the Hungarian national team Marco Rossi has tipped the player to play a new role at the club, despite already looking strong as one of the ‘number eights’ in the midfield three. He said: “I know he said that he doesn’t like too much to play in this position.

“But I really think that in the future, he could be a fantastic number six. He has all the skills to be in this position.”

Szoboszlai was briefly deployed in this kind of deeper role after Liverpool was reduced to 10 men against Bournemouth. And Rossi likened his skill-set to that of Andrea Pirlo.

Dream end to Liverpool summer with two transfers

Time is running out for Liverpool in the transfer market, as frustration continues to grow regarding its recruitment throughout the window.

Strong additions have been made in the form of Mac Allister, Szoboszlai and Endō but after missing out on both Lavia and Caicedo, further recruitment will likely be needed if they are to compete with the likes of Manchester City this season.

Liverpool.com has since looked at what a perfect end to the summer window could look like for the Reds, as they look to complete two key additions to the squad before deadline day.

One of the most likely transfers left at the moment could be for André Trindade, whom Liverpool has admired over recent months. However, there is currently something of a stalemate, with Fluminense unwilling to sell.

Another option could be Slovakian international Dávid Hancko, who would address the lack of depth Liverpool currently has within the defensive department, specifically at left center-back as cover for captain Virgil van Dijk.
