Liverpool transfer round-up: Kalvin Phillips received a warning from Klopp as a double swoop was completed

Liverpool has added a number of new players so far this summer, and more could join the club before the transfer market closes on September 1.

Liverpool have been very busy in the transfer market this summer, with manager Jurgen Klopp completely revamping his midfield at Anfield.

James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all left the club on free transfers, while Jordan Henderson and Fabinho completed moves to the Saudi Pro League. Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo have been signed as replacements and it has been a steady start to the new campaign.

However, Reds boss Klopp is keen on adding more reinforcements before the transfer window slams shut next week. With that in mind, here are all the latest Liverpool transfer rumours.

Phillips warning

Danny Murphy believes his former club should only sign midfielder Kalvin Phillips if Liverpool can get him for around half of the £45m that Manchester City paid Leeds for him.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old, who made just two Premier League starts for City last season, and Murphy has voiced doubts about a potential deal. He said on talkSPORT: “It would depend on the price.

“If it was half the price of what they got for him, maybe it would make sense. But there is a stumbling block in terms of the perception. I think if Liverpool were seen to be getting a player at City who couldn’t get a kick, I’m not sure how that would go down.”

Double swoop completed

Teenagers Trey Nyoni and Amara Nallo have joined Liverpool from Leicester and West Ham respectively.

The pair will join up with Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s U18 squad. 16-year-old midfielder Nyoni had been on Leicester’s books since the age of six and said goodbye to the Foxes on Instagram.

He wrote: “I am grateful to all the players and staff at the club who have helped me develop over the past 10 years and I wish nothing but success to everyone at the club.” Nallo also shared an image of himself holding a Liverpool shirt, with the centre-back making the move to Anfield a few months after signing a scholarship deal with West Ham,

Amrabat deadline

Sofyan Amrabat has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with both Liverpool and Manchester United interested in his services.

And Fiorentina have now set a deadline for his future to be decided, with Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport reporting that the midfielder has until the close of play on Friday to decide whether he will stay or go.

The report adds that Fiorentina have set a €30m (£25.7m) asking price for Amrabat and that Spanish club Atletico Madrid are also interested in his services.
