Manchester United have done some good work in the transfer market this summer but enter its final few days scrambling for reinforcements.

Injury to Luke Shaw opened up a major gap at left-back, with Tyrell Malacia also out while Brandon Williams has joined Ipswich Town on loan. Diogo Dalot was moved across against Nottingham Forest on Saturday but United are looking for a short-term fix.

Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella and Sergio Reguilon of Tottenham are being considered for loan moves, with both clubs looking to offload their fringe players. Marcos Alonso of Barcelona has also been linked with United.

Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayındır looks set to join in the coming days and Erik ten Hag will push for further signings once the Turkish shot-stopper’s arrival is confirmed. Dean Henderson is a likely outgoing, following the agreement of a £20m deal with Crystal Palace.

Matters on the pitch saw United come from 2-0 down to beat Forest 3-2 on Saturday, thanks to goals from Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes. However fans were eager to express their anger at the Glazer family with thousands staying behind at Old Trafford for a sit-in protest.

Gravenberch quizzed on future amid United interest

Ryan Gravenberch admits he is unsure about his future, with United one of several sides interested in a late move.

The Dutchman came off the bench in Bayern’s 3-1 win over Augsburg yesterday for his first appearance of the season. He has grown frustrated over a lack of minutes in Germany.

United are considering a late move for Gravenberch, with Erik ten Hag keen to add more depth to his midfield.

Barcelona stance on Alonso loan to United ‘revealed’

Barcelona are reportedly open to loaning Marcos Alonso to United in the final week of the summer window.

Mundo Deportivo says offloading Alonso could help with Barcelona’s financial problems, allowing them to get his salary off the books for the next few months.

Bayern ‘could offer’ United shock Gravenberch swap-deal

United could be offered a shock swap-deal involving Ryan Gravenberch this week.

Sport Bild reports that Bayern are themselves considering a move to sign United midfielder Scott McTominay in the coming days.

The report even claims a loan swap involving McTominay and Gravenberch is ‘possible’ ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.

West Ham ‘re-open talks’ with United over Maguire deal

West Ham could make a late offer to sign Harry Maguire before deadline day.

The Sun reports that David Moyes’ side have re-opened talks to sign the England international in the final days of the summer window.

It is suggested that West Ham are trying to find a way to pay a little more to help United pay off Maguire.

United ‘offer’ Real Madrid chance to sign Martial after injury blow

Anthony Martial has reportedly been offered to Real Madrid in their search for a new forward.

MD say Madrid are in the market for attacking reinforcements this week after losing Vinicius Junior to injury, with Martial a wildcard option.

They claim United have already proposed a loan deal with an option to buy Martial at the end of the season.

It must be said, it seems highly unlikely United will look to sell the Frenchman this week given their own shortage of attacking options.

Napoli ‘eye’ late deal for Amrabat with United move ‘unlikely’

Sofyan Amrabat could be on the move this week, but not to United.

Marca reports that Napoli have entered the race to sign the Fiorentina midfielder and could complete a deal before the deadline.

The Manchester Evening News revealed over the weekend that United have been in the market for another midfielder, but club sources say if Amrabat does leave Fiorentina, it is unlikely to be for them.

Fulham ‘ahead’ of United for Reguilon deal

United might need to look elsewhere in their pursuit of a new left-back this week.

The Telegraph warns that Fulham are currently leading the race to sign Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham.

They are the latest outlet to state Marc Cucurella, Marcos Alonso, and Reguilon are on United’s target list as the club scrambles for an emergency left-back signing before Friday’s transfer deadline.

Cucurella loan fee

Chelsea would be open to loaning out Marc Cucurella this summer so long as they receive a loan fee and full salary coverage, according to Fabrizio Romano.

United have made contact with the Blues regarding a deal for their left-back amid an ongoing injury crisis in their own squad.

Cucurella looks to be surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
