Arthur Theate has been previously linked to reinforce Jurgen Klopp’s defensive ranks with a new plan emerging. Mohamed Salah’s long-term future on Merseyside remains in question and Joe Gomez is the latest Red to be linked with a multi-million switch to Saudi Arabia.
Joe Gomez wanted
Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer.
Al Ittihad are said to have shortlisted the Reds centre-back as they look to bolster their defence.
This summer has posed a dilemma for Liverpool as their defence also needs reinforcing amid their attempts to bolster their midfield.
Betfair have compiled the list of possible destinations for Gomez, should leave before the September 1 deadline.
Liverpool make contact with Cheick Doucoure

According to RMC Sport, the Reds are said to have made contact with the Malian midfielder.
At the moment, it has been claimed, that negotiations are at a standstill with no significant moves or concrete offers for the 23-year-old.
It has been said that Crystal Palace are wanting in excess of €60m for Doucoure.
Exequiel Palacious caught Liverpool’s attention
According to The Athletic, Exequiel Palacios has courted Liverpool’s attention.
It has been claimed that the Reds are interested in the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder.
The links, albeit tentative, come as a list of possible midfield targets have been drawn up that Manchester United could target, amid their own engine room troubles.
Should the Reds have an interest in Palacious, Leverkusen have reportedly issued a firm hands-off, claiming he is going nowhere.
Liverpool want Douglas Luiz
Liverpool have reportedly held internal discussions over signing Aston Villa midfielder, Douglas Luiz.
That is according to Fichajes who are reporting that the Reds want to sign the Brazilian.
They claim that reliable sources have told them that the Reds have the Brazilian on their radar. The 25-year-old is out of contract in 2024 and has become subject to speculation over his future at Villa Park.
Liverpool’s interest is deemed ‘not surprising’ by the Spanish outlet and Luiz’s qualities are said to be a ‘perfect’ fit for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Elsewhere, according to Ben Jacobs, Liverpool have held internal discussion over signing the midfielder. Speaking to GiveMeSport, he said: “Douglas Luiz is a name that has been discussed internally by Liverpool. I’m not aware of any movement at this point.
“I think that it’s crystal clear that Liverpool wants to add between now and the end of the window if the right name becomes available.”
Liverpool could push for Ryan Gravenberch
Liverpool could push for Ryan Gravenberch in the final days of the transfer window, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.
He claims that Bayern Munich are waiting for concrete offers from clubs, as the Dutchman currently sits fourth in the midfield pecking order under Jurgen Klopp.
The former Ajax midfielder wants to play regularly and is reportedly unhappy with the situation, but he has yet to be informed of a potential swap deal.
Joe Gomez wanted by Al Ittihad
Al Ittihad are also eyeing a possible move for Liverpool defender Joe Gomez, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Saudi Pro League are seemingly not letting up on their free-spending transfer window, with their market to continue open despite Europe’s September 1 deadline.
It has been said that the Pro League club have compiled a shortlist of defender with Gomez ‘very high’ on that list.
Liverpool, however, insist they have no intention to sell important players in the concluding days, he says.

Jarrod Bowen has been listed as a possible alternative to Mohamed Salah, should he leave Liverpool, according to Football Transfers.
The Egyptian has been subject to intense speculation this summer, with the links likely to increase going into the closing stages of the transfer window.
Al Ittihad are said to be looking to table a £150m bid for Salah, which would see him among the highest earners alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.
The outlet claims Jurgen Klopp believes Bowen is the ideal replacement for Salah in the short-term.
Joel Matip ‘plan’ could give Liverpool a new signing and late transfer window twist
Joel Matip has served Liverpool well in the seven years since his free transfer from Schalke 04 though now may be a wanted man.
According to L’Equipe, should Rennes sell Arthur Theate this summer they may turn to the 32-year-old Reds defender as a quick fix.
The Belgium international has reportedly been subject to interest from RB Leipzig and to a lesser extent Liverpool, although with Matip a bargaining chip it opens a fresh possibility for Jurgen Klopp to exploit.
