The Reds’ midfield rebuild looks poised to take another step forward on Friday, as an agreement was reached with Bayern Munich over the potential signing of Ryan Gravenberch.
Elsewhere, Liverpool continue to be linked with a potential new centre-back and Mohamed Salah remains a target for clubs in Saudi Arabia after reports of a £118 million offer for his services.
Liverpool have until 11 p.m. to finalise any deals and new players must be registered before midday if they are to feature in this weekend’s clash with Aston Villa.
Liverpool transfer state of play
6pm: Liverpool’s move for Ryan Gravenberch will not be impacted by Bayern Munich’s failed move for Joao Palhinha. The 28-year-old had undergone a medical in Germany and had been waiting for the Cottagers to green-light the deal.
However, the ECHO understands that despite the Bundesliga champions’ failure to land the Fulham midfielder, Ryan Gravenberch is set to sign on the dotted lines at Anfield.
3pm: Al Ittihad are reportedly set to table an improved bid for Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian has already become subject to a £150m bid from the Saudi Arabian club.
The Saudi Pro League champions have been linked with a move for the Reds attacker during the last month as they continue to splash the cash following the cash injection by majority Newcastle United owners PIF.
An official bid was finally made on their behalf on Thursday night to take the player from Anfield, which was instantly rejected by Liverpool.
The deal is understood to have comprised an initial £100m with extensive add-ons taking the fee up to £150m.
His stance remained unchanged on Friday. Klopp said: “The position remains the same, absolutely.
“That’s how it is. Nothing else to say. No offer as far as I know.”
Ryan Gravenberch landed early this morning ahead of a move to Liverpool. He’s currently undergoing a medical ahead of a five-year contract.

Liverpool £40m deal for Ryan Gravenberch on track despite Bayern Munich transfer setback
Liverpool are confident they can complete a deal for Ryan Gravenberch ahead of tonight’s transfer deadline – despite Bayern Munich having failed in an attempt to sign Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha.
Gravenberch has been on Merseyside today undergoing a medical after the Reds on Thursday agreed a deal worth an initial £35million plus a potential £5m in add-ons with Bayern for the 21-year-old.
It had been reported the Bundesliga champions would only green-light the transfer once they recruited a replacement, prompting fears it could be under threat after Bayern’s move for Palhinha collapsed shortly before the 5pm deadline in Germany after Fulham were unable to bring in a new midfielder.
The Gravenberch deal, though, is not dependent on any other Bayern transfer, with Liverpool continuing to progress with the transfer.
Al-Ittihad set to increase offer for Mohamed Salah
According to the Mail, Mohamed Salah is set to be the subject of a £200m bid from Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad.
Liverpool have already rejected a deal in the region of £150m for the Egyptian forward, but now it is claimed the Pro League side will return with an improved offer.
A reminder that the Saudi Pro League transfer window is open until next Thursday.
Joao Palhinha’s move to Bayern Munich OFF
