It is no secret that Real Madrid are in need of a striker. Karim Benzema brought an end to his legendary 14-year run in the Spanish capital to join Al-Ittihad at the end of last season. Los Blancos have not really gone out and replaced the second-highest scorer in the history of the club though. Instead, they signed Joselu on a season-long loan.
To be fair to Joselu, he has done a very good job whenever he has been given a chance by Carlo Ancelotti. But is he the man to lead the line for Real Madrid if they want to compete in all three major competitions? Most probably not. Also, he is 33 years of age and not a long-term solution anyway.
One striker Real Madrid have been constantly linked with for a while is Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus. The Serbian had struggled last season in Massimiliano Allegri’s system but has made a blistering start this time around. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 4 goals and provided an assist in 4 appearances in this campaign till now.
That kind of form is drawing the interest of other teams across Europe as well. And it looks like Chelsea might be willing to put in an offer.
It is believed that Chelsea passed on the chance to sign Vlahovic in the summer. But his early season form might have already changed their minds about the player.
As reported by Fichajes, Chelsea continue to look for forwards. They would be willing to put a €60 million offer on the table of Juventus to sign Vlahovic.
It remains to be seen if Chelsea do indeed make an offer for Vlahovic in the summer. And if they do, would Juventus be willing to accept it considering the form the striker has shown lately?
