The Egyptian has netted six goals for the Reds versus the Seagulls so far, a tally that matches Sir Kenny Dalglish, and one more strike will see him assume outright top spot.

This game falls on the eighth anniversary of Jürgen Klopp’s appointment as Liverpool manager. He has overseen 190 wins in his 303 league games in charge to date.

The Reds are now six goals short of recording 650 in league matches under Klopp.

Liverpool have won four of their six previous Premier League visits to Brighton, with one draw and one loss, which came last season.

Of the Reds’ outfield players, Andy Robertson and Dominik Szoboszlai have played every minute of the league campaign so far. Alisson Becker has also not missed a minute of league action.

Robertson’s first goal for the club came against the Seagulls in a 4-0 Anfield victory in May 2018.

Alexis Mac Allister played 112 times for Albion in all competitions, scoring 20 times, before moving to Liverpool in the summer. In the league he netted 16 goals in 98 appearances.

The Reds have won 20 of the 38 encounters between the sides in all competitions so far.

James Milner played 332 games for Liverpool and scored 26 goals during an eight-year spell at Anfield before moving to Brighton ahead of this season.

Adam Lallana, meanwhile, scored 22 goals in 178 games in all competitions for Liverpool before his switch to the Seagulls in 2020.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side have scored in 23 consecutive Premier League fixtures, racking up 52 goals, since a 1-0 home defeat by Fulham in February.
