Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson praised teammate Raheem Sterling after Saturday afternoon’s win against Burnley.
Chelsea finally found their shooting boots this weekend by recording a 4-1 away victory at Burnley, which was the perfect way to sign off before the international break.
The Blues came from behind to gain another three points in the Premier League. In fact, Chelsea have now recorded back-to-back wins in the league for the first time in 12 months.
Next, Mauricio Pochettino’s side are back after the international break with a home game in the league versus Arsenal.
Raheem Sterling made a great impact on his return to the Chelsea XI.
He celebrated his goal against Burnley with an Instagram post, which received big praise from teammates such as Nicolas Jackson and Marc Cucurella.
“That’s more like it. Three more points,” Sterling wrote.
Jackson replied: “The best.”
Cucurella added: “Sonic.”
Sterling’s performance today certainly makes a mockery of his omission from Gareth Southgate’s England squad this month.
With next summer’s European Championships fast approaching, the Chelsea star needs to try force himself back into the fold quickly. More repeats of Saturday’s display will certainly help his cause.
He’s now scored three league goals this season, but his overall influence on the match was the bet thing about his game against Burnley. Nearly everything good about the Blues going forward came through him on the left wing.
