Chelsea legend Eden Hazard has been urged to retire from football by his younger brother Kylian.
Eden Hazard is currently without a club after his contract at Real Madrid was terminated and Kylian has told AS that he would hang up his boots if he were in the winger’s position.
Eden Hazard’s career at Real Madrid did not go to plan, hence their decision to let him go in the summer, but the Belgian was an absolute animal at Chelsea before leaving the club in 2019.
During his time in west London, he scored 110 goals and won two Premier League titles.
Hazard is still just 32, but he has had a lot of injuries recently and has already accomplished much in the game.
For Kylian, then, now may be a good time for his older brother to call it quits. In his interview with AS, he said: “He did everything he could and won trophies at every club he played for, including Real Madrid.
“If I were him, I would retire immediately. After a long career like his, I think Eden deserves to spend time with his family.”
If Hazard decides to go on, you would expect him to have options.
He was easily one of the best footballers in the world before his move to Real Madrid and had it not been for injuries, that may have remained the case during his time there.
Considering that, you can easily imagine a club from MLS or maybe the Saudi Pro League picking him up.
They may have some convincing to do, though, as at this point, retirement certainly does look like an avenue for Hazard. Again, the Belgium legend is not exactly at the retirement age, but he may feel satisfied with what he has been able to achieve in the game, giving him reason to hang up his boots.
