Manchester United entered the international break with a win but still have a lot of T’s uncrossed and I’s un-dotted.

Jadon Sancho remains banished from first-team training amid his fall-out with Erik ten Hag. Reports suggest that a January loan exit is likely with the view of offloading him permanently should an apology not be forthcoming.

Meanwhile, Kobbie Mainoo continues his return to fitness following an ankle injury in pre-season. However, it has been suggested that his scheduled inclusion in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Barnsley did not materialise.

He is one of a number of United players still sidelined, though, with Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw just three of the defenders injured. In better rumours, Sergio Reguilon is supposedly making his way back from his setback.

Anthony Martial was one player who suffered from constant knocks last season. However, he has returned to fitness to find Rasmus Hojlund has taken his first-choice status. Reports suggest he is open to an exit next summer.

Martial ‘considering’ United exit

Anthony Martial is supposedly mulling over his future at United.

The striker is currently second-choice behind summer signing Rasmus Hojlund having missed more than 30 matches due to injury last season.

Football Insider claims Martial is not prepared to go through a second season as a back-up and could look to leave next year as a result. His current contract runs out next summer.

Beckham called Maguire to offer advice on handling abuse

Harry Maguire has revealed how David Beckham called him after England’s win over Scotland last month to offer the centre-back advice on how to handle the abuse he was being faced with.

Ten Hag ready to ‘wash his hands’ of Sancho

Erik ten Hag is reportedly ready to “wash his hands” of Jadon Sancho next year.

The i claim the United manage wants the 23-year-old to leave in the January transfer window to remove a “disruptive influence” from a squad already in crisis.

Ten Hag ‘hands United’ four-man defensive transfer shortlist

Erik ten Hag has reportedly earmarked four defensive targets for his side to sign next year.

The Mirror claims Sporting CP defender Goncalo Inacio is the latest name to be added to a four-man shortlist that also includes Jean-Clair Todibo of Nice.

Antonio Silva of Benfica and Bayer Leverkusen central defender Edmond Tapsoba are also on the list.

Mainoo injury ‘delay’

Kobbie Mainoo did not appear in a behind-closed-doors friendly for United this week as originally planned, says the Daily Mail.

The 18-year-old is said to have been pulled out of the match with Barnsley. Many of those facing the League One club are said to have been players aged under 21.

The report says Sergio Reguilon is on the way back to fitness, though.
