Six of Jürgen Klopp’s players may be out for Liverpool before Everton, while four are likely to return.

The international break is always a nervy time when it comes to injuries. There always seems to be some sort of issue that Liverpool faces when it comes to someone picking up a knock (or worse) and this time is no different.

The main news this week has been the injury picked up by Andy Robertson while the Liverpool full-back was captaining his national side but what about the other players who are currently sidelined?

With an important match against Everton at Anfield now less than a week away from kicking off, we have taken a look at the latest and put it in one handy round-up of what we know so far.

Here is the latest Liverpool.com injury update including six players who could be set to miss out on playing in the Merseyside derby and another two who have been recently suspended

Playing for Scotland against Spain, Roberton is the latest player to be injured for Liverpool and it is unclear exactly how long he will be missing. Robertson dislocated his shoulder which is never a nice injury to sustain but his length of absence is yet to be worked out.

Missing the Merseyside derby a week today feels fairly likely but hopefully it won’t be too long after that with another run of important fixtures in all competitions coming up for Liverpool.

  • Dutch forward Cody Gakpo scored against Spurs but had already injured himself at that point in the game. But it is hopefully not as bad an issue as was first feared.

“Cody has a good chance that he will be back [after the international break],” Jürgen Klopp said before the Brighton game. “Already out of the brace, walks normal around here.”

Curtis Jones still has another two games left of his Premier League (and domestic cup) suspension meaning that he will miss both Everton and Nottingham Forest but could be back for Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup.

He will be able to play against Toulouse in the Europa League so won’t lose too much match fitness. Diogo Jota, meanwhile, has now served his one-match suspension and will be available to face Everton.

Goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher would have played against Union SG at Anfield in the Europa League and was also primed to feature for his country, the Republic of Ireland, over the international break. Ideally he will be back in time to face Toulouse and Bournemouth this month but a timeline has not yet been revealed.

Conor Bradley, meanwhile, is on the way back. He is running again but was not in team training before the international break. He is another who should have eyes on the domestic cup competitions and possibly the Europa League when he returns.

Having been out for months, Thiago has suffered a number of setbacks and it is hoped that he will not be out for much longer (but then it was hoped at one stage that he could be back in time for pre-season).

Stefan Bajčetić, meanwhile, will need to be carefully managed as he returns. The teenager has come back from a long-term injury but Liverpool will be very careful not to overload him. His latest issue is just something that naturally came from the recovery process.

With Alexis Mac Allister being the best option as the number six at the moment and Wataru Endō still settling in, having a couple of extra players available who can play in that role would be no bad thing, but rushing Thiago and Bajčetić could do more harm than good.
