Chelsea pushed Armando Broja to leave the Albania squad and return to the club during this international break.
That is according to journalist Simon Phillips.
Armando Broja is not currently injured despite having to leave the Albania set-up, but Phillips has stated on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that the Blues encouraged him to come back to Cobham because he was fatigued and still not fully match fit.
Chelsea supporters were initially given a scare when Albania manager Sylvinho told the media that Broja would miss his side’s game against the Czech Republic.
“As for Broja, I have to give bad news,” Sylvinho was quoted as saying by Newsport. “He was with the team for only two days. After consulting with our doctors and Chelsea’s, he can’t make it.”
But thankfully, it looks like Chelsea are just trying to manage the striker’s fitness, as opposed to an actual injury. Mauricio Pochettino will now be hoping that he is fit enough to feature in the Blues’ upcoming Premier League fixture versus Arsenal.
Armando Broja needs time
Broja was out for such a long time with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, so it is not a surprise that he is not at peak condition yet and Chelsea want to be cautious with him.
