Liverpool’s record at Anfield against Everton

Football fans rejoice; the second international break of the season is almost over!

Liverpool will be gearing up to reignite their season as they host the Merseyside derby on Saturday.

While international breaks are often a momentum killer, the October round of international fixtures actually came as something of a blessing to Reds fans, who had just watched the team pick up one point from two league games, off the back of a superb start to the season in all competitions.

There aren’t many bigger fixtures to mark the return to Premier League football than a Merseyside derby at Anfield, and that is exactly what supporters are getting, as Liverpool face Everton in the early kick off on Saturday (yes, again).

Based on the form of the two sides, the Reds are undoubtedly heavy favourites, but victory is never guaranteed in this game.

With that said, what are the head to head stats between Liverpool and Everton when they’ve faced off at Anfield?

Liverpool and Everton are two of the biggest clubs English football has to offer, and of course, the old rivals have faced one another many, many times.

The Reds have, of course, largely come out on top, especially at Anfield.

Of the 143 games played between the two Merseyside clubs in all competitions at the Reds’ iconic home, Liverpool have won 70, drawn 41 and have only been beaten 32 times.

Of those 143 meetings, there have been some absolute belters and coincidently, both Liverpool’s biggest victory over the Blues and Everton’s biggest win over the Reds both occurred at Anfield.

The Toffees recorded their record win against Liverpool away from home in the 1914/15 season (0-5), while Liverpool shipped six past Everton in the 1935/36 season (6-0) because they just had to one up their footballing neighbours.

Liverpool’s record vs Everton at Anfield (all time):

PREMIER LEAGUE ERA H2H RECORD

If you thought the results between the two clubs were dominant in Liverpool’s favour in all competitions throughout history, the head-to-head standings at Anfield in the Premier League era paint an even more emphatic picture.

Liverpool have played Everton 32 times at Anfield since the formation of the Premier League and they have only lost three.

In that time, the Reds have won 17 of the fixtures, drawn the remaining 12.

In addition, Liverpool have also won seven of the last ten league meetings between the sides at home, with an aggregate score of 23-7. Talk about domination.

Liverpool’s record vs Everton at Anfield (Premier League):

Recent form is particularly one-sided.

The Reds have actually lost just twice against Everton in the last 13 years in all competitions, while the 2-0 defeat at Anfield during that best-forgotten 2020/21 season was the first time the red half of Merseyside had experienced a home loss in the fixture since 1999.

If history is anything to go by, it’s certainly looking good for Jurgen Klopp’s side on Saturday afternoon.

Although, nothing is guaranteed with a derby and an early kick-off.
