Kaoru Mitoma has reportedly turned down advances from Liverpool to put pen-to-paper on a new five-year contract with Brighton & Hove Albion.
According to London World, the Japan international turned down advances from clubs across Europe to remain at Brighton, with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Barcelona all monitoring his situation.
The report goes on to claim that Mitoma’s new five-year contract is worth in the region of £80,000-a-week and he has now finally put pen-to-paper after agreeing a deal in principle at the start of October.
He joined the Seagulls from J-League side Kawasaki Frontale in the summer of 2021.
