Alisson claims that the 26-year-old Liverpool player versus Everton was producing a lot of chances.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has praised Luis Diaz’s creativity against Everton today.

Diaz is having a slightly rough time of it at the moment, a missed penalty for Colombia mid-week a low point of his season so far.

But he was back to looking dangerous in a Liverpool shirt on Saturday. And speaking to LFCTV after the 2-0 win over the Toffees, Alisson was quick to highlight the good work of the Reds No.7.

“I think we did really well today, we were patient enough and worked the ball well enough to create the chances,” says the Brazilian. “Lucho was one who was amazing creating chances for us, and suddenly the game opened up.”

Lucho deserves his praise from Alisson. It may not have been the cleanest of performances overall, but the 26-year-old didn’t give up.

Perhaps he could have done a little better with one or two promising moments in the first-half, that’s fair to say.

After the break though, Diaz was one of Liverpool’s most likely players. Even after Jurgen Klopp moved him to left-back, the Colombian kept on being a thorn in Everton’s side.

That persistence should have paid off when Nathan Patterson took him down in the Blues’ box.

We’re not entirely sure why Diaz didn’t get a penalty, with Patterson taking absolutely nothing of the ball as the Reds’ No.7 cut it back.

But Lucho did get his rewards shortly after. Michael Keane stuck out his arm to block Diaz’s cross and Mohamed Salah stuck away the resulting penatly.

After that, Klopp took Diaz off. His mid-week excursions perhaps catching up with him. We’d like to see some goals going in from him soon, but for now it’s a step in the right direction.
