Regarding Mohamed Salah, Jürgen Klopp said: “Absolutely outstanding, the numbers are crazy.”

Jürgen Klopp hailed Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian’s brace gave Liverpool victory in the Merseyside derby on Saturday.

Salah’s second-half double secured a 2-0 win for the Reds against Everton at Anfield, with the 31-year-old netting the 200th league goal of his career in the process.

First, he stayed calm to convert a penalty in front of the Kop after Michael Keane had handled Luis Diaz’s cross. Then, in stoppage-time, he latched onto Darwin Nunez’s pass to seal the three points in clinical fashion.

He now has eight goals in all competitions for Liverpool this season, and speaking in his post-match press conference, Klopp paid tribute to the No.11.

The Reds boss said: “Look, what I love most about Mo is… well, maybe mostly I love the numbers!

“But I think that Mo Salah played for us an incredible amount of fantastic games. Today was not his best game but then [still] being that clinical with the penalty and then staying in the situation, that’s probably his biggest quality, and I love that.

“We need someone who can bring the ball over the line, and he was that again. I couldn’t respect that fact more.

“It’s absolutely outstanding, the numbers are crazy. He will never stop, that is his nature and that’s really cool for us.”
