Still unbeaten this season, Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs host Fulham on Monday in the last match of Premier League matchday 9. A win for Tottenham would put them back at the top of the Premier League, two points clear of Manchester City and Arsenal.
Tottenham’s 2023/24 season, without playing in European competitions this season and, above all, without their captain and all-time top scorer Harry Kane, could have been a historic one, or even one to remember.
However, Ange Postecoglou’s side have so far been almost perfect. Still unbeaten this season, Spurs will regain top spot in the Premier League if they beat Fulham on Monday evening at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham have won six of their eight games so far and have only drawn two, including one against Arsenal and another against Brentford on Matchday 1.
The London side have already beaten Manchester United and Liverpool, and are already positioning themselves as contenders for the Premier League title. A title that has been missing from the club’s trophy cabinet for over 60 years (1961).
Tottenham meet their Carabao Cup first round rivals this evening. Fulham won on penalties against a much-changed Postecoglou side at the end of August. Since then, Spurs have won 4 of their five matches.
Confirmed lineups for the clash:
Tottenham starting XI : Vicario (GK); Pedro Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Hojbjerg; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son and Richarlison.
Fulham starting XI: Leno (GK); Castagne, Bassey, Ream, Robinson; Lukic, Palhinha, Andreas; Decordova-Reid, Vinicius and Willian.
