Liverpool are the latest Premier League club showing an interest in signing Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.
That is according to well-respected journalist Simon Phillips.
Simon Phillips has reported via his Substack on Wednesday afternoon that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are showing an interest in Gallagher.
It is understood that Chelsea will begin speaking very soon with their 23-year-old midfielder to discuss a contract extension, but offers from interested clubs may begin to flood in just as quickly.
Phillips said: “I am told they (Liverpool) are keen to add more English players and are taking an interest in Gallagher.”
It really puts into context how much quality Gallagher possesses when a club like Liverpool enters the race for him alongside other top Premier League teams.
We know he’s divided opinion at times within the Chelsea fanbase, but he’s really coming into his own during the opening quarter of this 2023/24 season. His energy and quality as a box-to-box midfielder is so easy on the eye.
If we made the final choice, we’d ensure that the Blues academy graduate extended his stay at the club and focused on his development under Pochettino.
