Real Madrid might not have a perfect squad but they are certainly finding ways to make up for it on the pitch. Los Blancos got their biggest win of the season so far, winning 2-1 away to FC Barcelona. The result leaves them four points ahead of Xavi’s side. Surprisingly, Girona are keeping up the pace and are second just based on goal difference. Atletico Madrid will have the same number of points as the table topper as well if they win their two games in hand.
The mathematics of the matter can wait. It is time for Real Madrid supporters to celebrate an El Clasico win.
The hero on the day for them was Jude Bellingham. The Englishman arrived in the summer and might very well have established himself as the face of the club already. He is a supreme talent who seems to rise to the occasion.
Real Madrid simply cannot ask more of him. According to stats from Transfermarkt, Bellingham has scored 13 goals and provided 3 assists in 13 appearances for the club so far.
Bellingham is proving to be a big game player for Real Madrid, similar to what Ronaldo was during his time at Santiago Bernabeu. As reported by Forbes, Vinicius Junior said:
“He’s incredible, and always makes a difference for us.
“The fans were used to Cristiano Ronaldo in the past and now Jude has arrived for us.”
Bellingham arrived with a lot of expectations on his shoulders following a €134 million move from Borussia Dortmund. It would be safe to say that he is exceeding them all and by some distance.
On current form, he might very well be the best player in the world. It is hard to think of someone who has been better or more decisive than him this season till now. Overall, Real Madrid have not been spectacular this season. But they have almost a spotless record thanks to the herocis of Bellingham.
