Tottenham are still hoping that they will be able to call on Destiny Udogie who missed the game against Crystal Palace due to a knock he picked up in the game against Fulham.
The Italy defender has been back at the team’s Enfield training base in north London with sources saying he’s likely to be involved on Monday night. Udogie has been one of the stars of Ange Postecoglous table topping Lilywhites and his involvement will be a massive influence on the home side.
Still only 20, the Italian has been the best full-back in the league and until missing the Palace game has been one of the first names on the team sheet for manager Ange Postecoglou.
There was another big boost for the north London club with Brennan Johnson who missed three two games, the international break and even the Fulham game but reminded everyone of why Tottenham paid £60million with a brilliant cameo that came with an assist in the Crystal Palace game.
Johnson and Udogie have only started together once, and that was in the game against Arsenal which ended 2-2 both players are seen as the present and future of the club.
Johnson, in particular, was seen as one of the players that was brought in to replace the Harry Kane and with age and time on their side it does look like a good deal already.
Under Ange Postecoglou, Spurs have been exciting, progressive and shown incredibly hard to play against with a mixture of dominance and many last-gasp wins that has strengthened bonds and lifted spirits within the club already.
Never have Tottenham been in this great shape at the start of a top-flight campaign since 1960, that season they won the league and even though they did beat Chelsea last season they will be hugely disappointed if they did not get three points again.
Their former manager Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff are in charge of Chelsea and a very hostile atmosphere is expected but the ultimate delight will be if they can dominate and ultimately take all three points with their young squad led by both Udogie and Johnson.
