Diego Simeone has revealed he’d like Jurgen Klopp to replace him at Atletico Madrid once he ends his illustrious stay at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Simeone has been in the Atletico hot seat since 2011 and recently signed a new four-year extension with the La Liga club, whom he has won two La Liga titles with already during his 12-year stay,
However, the Argentine has admitted he would like to see one of Klopp, Carlo Ancelotti or Mauricio Pochettino succeed him at the Wanda Metropolitano – where Liverpool won the Champions League in 2019 – when he calls it a day.
Speaking in his first extensive interview since penning a new deal with Atletico in September, Simeone was asked who he would like to see replace him once his time at the La Liga giants ends.
“One of the best, Klopp, [Carlo] Ancelotti, Pochettino,” replied Simeone, speaking to Cadena SER, via Team Talk. “They are the coaches that I would like to be at Atletico.”
