The duo were teammates last season at the Amex Stadium in a successful Brighton line-up, but they’ll face off against each other at the weekend in the Premier League. There’s no doubt that the midfield battle will go a long way to deciding the eventual winner of the match.
Billy Gilmour comments
Gilmour, 22, has been discussing Brighton and some of their success last year.
unbelievable talent
It was a bit of a slow start for Caicedo in Chelsea colours at the start of the season, with his £115million price tag (Sky Sports) bringing a lot of attention to him.
However, the Ecuador international is now beginning to really find his feet in this Blues XI.
His absence was massively felt in last weekend’s 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United, so we would bring him straight back into the line-up against former club Brighton on Sunday afternoon. He should be extra motivated this weekend to show just how good he can be.
He’s currently playing as the deepest midfielder protecting the back four. We suspect we’ll get the very best out of him when he starts playing in a box-to-box role, though, something he does for his country.
