Jurgen Klopp has hinted at a major boost for Liverpool when they head to Crystal Palace this weekend after Alisson Becker returned to training.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has missed the last three games with a muscle injury but rejoined the squad on Thursday before the trip to Selhurst Park.

Alisson looks good,” manager Klopp said on Friday.

“I don’t know if good enough for tomorrow, I’ll have to check that with the medical department and with Ali.”

Joel Matip is absent for Liverpool after suffering a serious knee injury which could rule him out for the rest of the season.

Alexis Mac Allister also looks likely to sit the Palace game out following a blow to his ankle in the win at Sheffield United.

“I don’t expect him to be ready for tomorrow but I don’t know about after that. It’s touch and go.”

Wataru Endo may keep his place at the base of Liverpool’s midfield if Mac Allister misses out, with Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott competing for the Argentine’s space.

Darwin Nunez could return to lead the attack while Kostas Tsimikas may get the nod at left-back to continue his rotation with Joe Gomez.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Szoboszlai, Endo, Gravenberch; Salah, Nunez, Diaz

Doubts: Alisson, Mac Allister

Injuries: Matip, Jota, Robertson, Bajcetic, Thiago

Time and date: 12.30pm GMT, Saturday December 9, 2023

Venue: Selhurst Park

TV channel: TNT Sports
