Chris Sutton has already made a “really bold” prediction for this weekend’s match between Liverpool and Arsenal.

Pundit Chris Sutton has now been sharing his thoughts ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal’s vital meeting in the Premier League this weekend.

It’s not very often that a ‘title-decider’ doesn’t involve Manchester City, in fact, it’s hard to even remember a time.

But with Pep Guardiola’s side away at the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia, there’s a chance for Arsenal or Liverpool to create an intimidating lead at the top.

Arsenal are currently five points ahead of Man City, with Liverpool just one point behind the league leaders.

And ahead of this duel between Jurgen Klopp and Mikel Arteta, Chris Sutton was giving his prediction on the ‘It’s All Kicking Off’ podcast.

Sutton admitted his own prediction was a bold one, and even chose his scorer for Arsenal’s trip to Liverpool.

The pundit said: “I’m going to be really bold here. I’m going to go for a Liverpool win, and Mo Salah to score.”

And despite Arsenal’s progress, Liverpool will always be considered the favourites at Anfield.

Of course, this was the fixture that eventually derailed Arsenal’s title push last season, a game in which they surrendered a two nil lead.

Although it was only Arsenal in title-contention last season, both teams have now improved a lot this year.

Declan Rice’s arrival at the club has been transformative, a signing that could prove to be the best in recent memory.

Moreover, William Saliba’s constant improvement is having a similar effect on the side.

That being said, Liverpool are now enjoying the best of Virgil Van Dijk once again, a player who wasn’t quite at his best for a year or so.

But with Dominik Szoboszlai also on board, Liverpool look like a title-winning force once again.

And although Sutton predicts a Liverpool win, Arsenal legend Ian Wright didn’t quite agree with those sentiments.

The beauty of this fixture is just how closely the two teams are matched, a great representation of the title-race this season.

And as well as Sutton’s verdict, Dennis Bergkamp has also been having his say on Saturday’s massive tie.
