Liverpool and Man City’s ultimate Premier League standings are predicted by a supercomputer

Manchester City have been backed to land a fourth consecutive Premier League title – despite Liverpool boasting a two-point lead over the Etihad outfit at the top of the table.

At the halfway point of the season, Jurgen Klopp’s side are level on points with Aston Villa, who have played a game more, while Arsenal and Manchester City sit two points behind.

That is despite Liverpool already playing Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Newcastle, Brighton & Hove Albion and City away from home already this campaign.

Despite the strong start to the campaign though, a supercomputer run by BetMGM has estimated Pep Guardiola’s side to have a 55.2% chance of landing their fourth straight Premier League title. For the Reds, meanwhile, their chances of securing a 19th league title are calculated at just 27.3%.

Further down the table, Arsenal, after suffering a 2-0 home defeat to West Ham United on Thursday, are predicted to have a 15.3% of delivering the first Premier League title to the Emirates since 2003.

City’s chance of making up ground in the title race were handed a sizeable boost on Saturday afternoon as they were able to name Kevin de Bruyne in a match-day squad for the first time since the opening weekend of the season back in August. They saw off Sheffield United 2-0.

At Anfield, meanwhile, Klopp will hope to have Alexis Mac Allister available for selection for Monday’s game against Newcastle United, with the Argentine midfielder having been sidelined with a leg injury since a 2-0 win at Sheffield United in December.
