Liverpool told price to sign Jürgen Klopp ‘favorite’ as Alexis Mac Allister issues injury update

Jürgen Klopp has supposedly been told the price that it will take to sign one of his 'favorites' while Alexis Mac Allister issues an update.

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has taken to social media with an injury update while a report has outlined how much it will cost to sign a player Jürgen Klopp described as his ‘favorite’ (aside from his Reds stars). Here’s your round-up of the latest Liverpool news.

Alexis Mac Allister issues injury update before Newcastle

Liverpool boss Klopp is hopeful that Alexis Mac Allister can play for his side in the game with Newcastle United on Monday. And the Argentine did return to training on Friday in a potentially big boost.

With the Newcastle game set to be Wataru Endō’s last for a while because of the Asia Cup, the timing could not be much better. He, like Mohamed Salah, will join up with his national team after Monday’s match and they could miss up to eight Liverpool games if Japan and Egypt go to the final of the competitions they are set to compete in.

“Back on the pitch with more determination than ever, and I couldn’t be happier,” the former Brighton midfielder said after making his full return to the AXA Training Centre. That would appear to be a hint that he could be involved at Anfield on Monday.

“Overcoming setbacks, coming back stronger,” he added. “Thank you everyone for the constant support.” Mac Allister has been missing since the game with Sheffield United, meaning if he does come back for the Newcastle match, he would have been absent for a total of only six fixtures despite the congested schedule.

How much it will cost to sign Jürgen Klopp’s ‘favorite’ player

West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen has been linked with a move to Liverpool for some time and the noise around him has peaked again with Klopp recently describing him as one of his ‘favorite’ players. A transfer is unlikely — not least because he plays in the same position as Salah — but that has not stopped the rumor mill from clicking into overdrive.

“(Bowen is) probably my favorite player besides all my players, I have to say,” Klopp said before Liverpool knocked West Ham out of the Carabao Cup last week. “It’s great what he is doing and how he has developed.” Bowen has an impressive 18 goal contributions in 24 appearances so far this season in all competitions.

According to Caught Offside, West Ham will demand upward of $127m (£100m/€115m) to sell Bowen because he only recently signed a new deal that ties him down until 2030. The 27-year-old has established himself as a very impressive Premier League performer and is usually fairly high up the goalscoring charts, but by the time Salah leaves Anfield, Bowen will probably be past the age at which he would be a target.
