Liverpool might well have been handed an unexpected transfer boost by Kylian Mbappé, with reports suggesting he is considering a free transfer to the Premier League in the summer. All options currently remain on the table at this point for the striker.
But according to The Times, the Paris Saint-Germain superstar has been left ‘unimpressed’ by Real Madrid’s attempts to push him into signing a pre-contract and he has therefore decided to explore a switch to England. The Spanish side is claimed to have given Mbappé a deadline of January 15 to agree terms ahead of a move in the summer, but he doesn’t appreciate the pressure.
Real Madrid looked to be the favorite to land the 25-year-old’s signature, with a departure from PSG now looking inevitable with his contract expiring at the end of the season. Mbappé though is said to have rejected Real’s proposal, and is now exploring a potential move to the Premier League instead.
That will no doubt catch the attention of Liverpool fans. The Reds have regularly been linked with the French international over the years, with Le Parisien reporting the Anfield side as being a serious option last week. Mbappé has previously revealed that he has held talks with the club in the past.
“We talked a little bit, but not too much. We talked a little bit,” he told the Telegraph in 2022. “I talked to Liverpool because it’s the favorite club of my mum, my mum loves Liverpool. I don’t know why, you will have to ask her. It’s a good club and we met them five years ago. When I was in Monaco I met them. It’s a big club.”
