It’s been a great start to 2024 so far for Liverpool. Not only are the Reds flying high at the top of the Premier League, but they are still in the running for four trophies this season.
They advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday by knocking out one of their main rivals for silverware in Arsenal. The Reds can take another big step towards a trophy when they face Fulham in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
At this stage, it would certainly be fair to deem Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool 2.0, as he has dubbed it, a success. There is of course a long way still to go in the season, and plenty of work to do before Liverpool has any silverware to add to its trophy cabinet.

The transfer window is open, so of course Kylian Mbappé is once again dominating the headlines. Just over the past 24 hours, there have been varying reports over his future, with Real Madrid and Liverpool both featuring.
One of the latest suggestions from Foot Mercato is that the PSG superstar has finally agreed terms on a transfer to Madrid, and that the saga may finally be about to end. There’ll no doubt be plenty more rumors before anything is confirmed, but in the meantime.
Mikel Arteta makes bold ‘best team in Europe’ claim
Mikel Arteta was left frustrated by his Arsenal side’s finishing once again as the Gunners were dumped out of the FA Cup by Liverpool. In launching something of a defense of his team though, he made a bold claim about the Reds.
“When you are better than the best team in Europe and you generate that amount of chances… I have not seen a team do it against them like we have done it. It is not enough. The reality is, it is not enough.”
Whether Arteta truly meant it, or was trying to soften the blow of his side being poor in front of goal, there’s no doubt that Liverpool is growing a reputation this season.
