Liverpool announces Klopp’s leaving before playing Arsenal.

Liverpool have confirmed that Jurgen Klopp will leave the club at the end of the season, with his team set to travel to Arsenal next week.

Arsenal are set to face Liverpool in a top-of-the-table clash at the Emirates Stadium next Sunday, but the fixture has taken on a new complexion in wake of the news that Jurgen Klopp is set to leave the visitors at the end of the season.

Klopp explained to the Liverpool website that he’s “running out of energy”, hence his decision to leave.

“I knew it already for longer that I will have to announce it at one point, but I am absolutely fine now,” Klopp clarified. “I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again.”

The result of the announcement is that next week’s game between Arsenal and Liverpool will be the last of the Klopp era.

With Arsenal already having been eliminated from the cups and Liverpool failing to qualify for the Champions League this season, there’s no chance of another fixture between the two clubs before the end of the current campaign.

There’s no denying that Klopp’s Liverpool have been very successful in England, in what has often been a more difficult period for Arsenal.

But the Gunners will want to end their head-to-head record with Klopp’s Liverpool on a high note next week.

Picking up all three points is obviously going to be more difficult in the wake of the news, with the Liverpool team likely to be galvanised by the announcement of Klopp’s departure.

It’s looks like Arsenal are set to kick off February with a huge game from every perspective.
