The five statistically best Liverpool players under Jurgen Klopp have been revealed.
Last week, Liverpool’s future was thrown into chaos after it was confirmed that Klopp is stepping down as the club’s manager at the end of the 23/24 season.
In what was an emotional interview, Klopp said he was ‘running out of energy’ and would not be able to do the job ‘again and again and again’.
During his time as Liverpool manager, Klopp has managed some fine players, including the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
However, the three above-mentioned players missed out on being the best-rated player of the Klopp era.
According to Who Scored, Liverpool’s best-rated player under Klopp is Philippe Coutinho, who was signed by Brendan Rodgers back in 2013.
The Brazilian has a rating of 7.63 out of 10, beating Salah, who has a rating of 7.41 to the top spot.
Senegal star Mane was third with an overall score of 7.38.
Van Dijk was fourth with 7.23 before Roberto Firmino rounded off the top five with a rating of 7.20.
Despite being Klopp’s best-rated player, Coutinho was not involved in the team that won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup and the FA Community Shield.
In fact, Coutinho was in the Liverpool squad that lost both the League Cup and Europa League final during the 15/16 season.
After scoring 54 goals in 201 appearances for Liverpool, the midfielder left in January 2018 as he joined Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona for a reported fee of £142 million.
Having won two La Liga titles in Spain, Coutinho was loaned out to the likes of Bayern Munich and Aston Villa.
At the start of the 23/24 season, it was confirmed that Coutinho would spend the campaign on loan at Qatar Stars League club Al Duhail.
