UEFA Responds To Oshoala’s Left Barcelona

European football governing body, UEFA, has reacted to Asisat Oshoala’s departure from Barcelona.

On Thursday, Barcelona announced that they have reached an agreement with US National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Bay FC.

According to reports, the transfer fee is believed to be worth $162,000.

Commenting on the move, UEFA wrote on their women’s Champions League X handle:“The first African international to lift the UWCL.

“Asisat Oshoala departs Barcelona after five years with the club.”

Oshoala also took to her Instagram page to comment on her exit.

“Barça will always hold a special place in my heart. I will carry with me the memories, lessons and friendships that I have gained during my time here.”

Oshoala scored 117 goals during the five years she spent at Barcelona.

The Super Falcons striker won 14 titles at the Spanish women’s giants comprising

two Champions Leagues, four Leagues, three Queen’s Cups, four Spanish Super Cups and one Catalan Cup.
