Liverpool’s U-turn should notify Jürgen Klopp’s successor, and Spurs and Liverpool “want free transfer.”

Liverpool and Juventus are supposedly among the clubs battling to sign a free agent this summer. Meanwhile, Barcelona ace Frenkie de Jong has made a transfer U-turn.

Liverpool takes on Burnley later today hoping to re-establish some momentum in the Premier League title race. And while the Reds’ defeat last weekend against Arsenal was a tough one for Jürgen Klopp and his players to take, there is plenty of reason to think that the poor performance was simply a one-off.

Klopp’s men can put things right to some degree with a convincing performance later today at Anfield. Vincent Kompany’s Burnley will not be an easy team to dispatch but Liverpool should be very confident of getting the three points and ensuring they remain top of the Premier League at the end of the weekend as they are at the start.

The rest of the Premier League will be watching closely to see how Liverpool responds to that setback in North London. The only other defeat that the Reds have had to face was the controversial game at Spurs in October when the VAR disallowed a legitimate goal for Luis Díaz in a calamitous error.

Here, Liverpool.com takes a scan around the Premier League and across the continent to see what’s going on at Liverpool’s rivals. We start with news from Barcelona that the Reds should be taking note of ahead of the summer.

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has been put up for sale and he is now open to an exit, according to Revelo. The Spanish side needs to raise funds and the Dutchman is willing to depart, despite previously being unwilling to leave.

While a move to Barcelona was a dream one for De Jong, he has been left disappointed with a lack of Champions League progression at the Camp Nou. Manchester United and PSG (ironically if that is the case) have supposedly been put on alert.
