Lillard is the Blazers’ franchise leader in 3-point field goals, free throws, points, points per game, player efficiency rating, offensive win shares and offensive box plus/minus. He’s a legend in Portland.
A future Hall of Famer, Lillard believes he’ll play for the Blazers again before he retires from the NBA. The eight-time All-Star averaged 25.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.3 blocks and made seven All-Star teams and seven All-NBA teams with Portland.
“I see there being a time where I play for the Trail Blazers,” Lillard said, via Aaron Fentress of The Oregonian. “But it won’t be right now. I play for the Bucks. To accomplish what we want to accomplish, you’ve got to be all in on that. And I was traded and I’m all in to try to accomplish that here.”
Lillard is averaging 25.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.8 assists in his first season with the Bucks while shooting 42.7% from the field, 34.5% from beyond the arc and 92.2% from the free-throw line. Milwaukee is in third place in the East with a record of 34-19.
The Bucks are title contenders with Lillard, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez leading the way. The front office acquired Patrick Beverley from the Philadelphia 76ers at the trade deadline.
