The Buffalo Bills don’t seem to be in position to make a big splash in free agency, but one reporter has the team linked to a versatile defensive lineman.
On Wednesday, Matt Barrows of the The Athletic reported that the San Francisco 49ers had released Arik Armstead. The 49ers beat writer then added a line that caught the attention of Bills Mafia members around the world.
Armstead, 30, can play all over the defensive line. In Buffalo. he fits best as a 3-tech, but could arguably line up at any spot on the defensive line. During his nine seasons with the 49ers, Armstead recorded 302 total tackles with 33.5 sacks, 43 tackles for loss and 88 QB hits.
Buffalo will likely have plenty of competition for Armstead’s services so it will be interesting to see what type of contract the Bills would be able to offer the defensive lineman.
