Raised by a Buccaneer father, Makaringe began his football journey as a 15-yr old in the East Rand of Gauteng, playing in Easter tournaments where he was spotted by a Moroka Swallows kitman. He turned out for the Dube Birds in the MDC before being snapped up professionally by Maritzburg United.
A leader, team player and a strong individual with a winning mentality, Makaringe grew up idolising Steve Lekoelea and Teko Modise and would like to win as many titles as possible in his time while inspiring those who look up to him to be the best they can be.
Ever the fashionista, Makaringe is a shopping buff who admires the latest threads. He is cultured and enjoys the theatre and a host of musical genres. His on-field antics extend towards tennis, hockey and golf and he puts his intellectual capacity to good work while playing chess.
