Patrick Mahomes is paid like one of the best players in the NFL.

But you might be stunned to learn that Mahomes isn’t the highest paid quarterback in the league, despite leading the Kansas City Chiefs to the Super Bowl for the fourth time in six years.

Mahomes and his Chiefs are set to face the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII tonight in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium.

San Francisco QB Brock Purdy is only making $925,000 a year, which means that Mr. Irrelevant is completely irrelevant on this list.

Based off average annual value, talkSPORT looks at the highest paid QBs in the league as Super Bowl LVIII prepares to kick off.

10. Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys), Daniel Jones (New York Giants), Matthew Stafford (Los Angeles Rams)

Only one of the three has won a Super Bowl and it’s not the Cowboys’ franchise QB.

Stafford is getting up there in NFL years but the 35-year-old leader won it all in 2022 and guided the Los Angeles Rams back to the playoffs this season.

Prescott leads one of the best offenses in the league.

But Dallas disappointed in the playoffs again in 2023 and this could be the final year of Mike McCarthy coaching the Cowboys.

The Giants hesitated to give Jones big money and now they might be regretting it.

New York was one of the worst teams in the NFL this season, while Jones is 22-36-1 as a starter and suffered a season-ending ACL injury.

8. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

The next Tom Brady is being paid more than Brady ever was.

Mahomes has the largest total QB contract in the NFL, with Kansas City promising its franchise face $450 million over a 10-year period.

But because Mahomes has been willing to take a little less to keep the Chiefs competitive, his AAV is only the eighth highest in the league.

Mahomes has made six Pro Bowls, been selected to three All-Pro teams and won two Super Bowl MVPs.

It’s an impressive résumé for a QB who was doubted coming out of college and lasted until the 10th pick of the 2017 draft.

Mahomes has been Showtime for the Chiefs.

He’s changed the future of the NFL and there’s a reason Kansas City has already promised Mahomes almost half a billion dollars.

Contract: $45m
