Breaking News: Detroit Lions’ picks garner top grades from experts….

The Detroit Lions certainly seem to have made some bold moves in the 2024 NFL draft, and the analysts have differing opinions on their selections. Overall, it appears that they’ve focused heavily on addressing their secondary and adding depth to key positions.

NFL.com gave them a solid B, acknowledging their aggressive moves at cornerback but also suggesting they could have considered other positions like edge rusher or receiver.

Pro Football Focus awarded the Lions an A, highlighting their acquisitions of Terrion Arnold and Ennis Rakestraw Jr. as significant upgrades to their cornerback unit.

The Ringer echoed the sentiment with an A grade, praising the Lions’ first-round selection of Arnold and their overall strategy of targeting high-value positions.

USA Today and CBS Sports both gave the Lions respectable grades, with USA Today emphasizing their focus on improving their pass defense and CBS Sports noting their aggressive approach.

New York Post and SI.com also gave positive reviews, with SI.com likening GM Brad Holmes to Howie Roseman for his sensible draft choices that address team needs aggressively.

The Sporting News gave the Lions an A as well, noting that they’ve successfully addressed one of their biggest weaknesses from the previous season by adding starting-caliber cornerbacks.

Overall, it seems the consensus is that the Lions made smart moves to address key areas of need, particularly in their secondary, though there’s some variation in opinion regarding their overall draft strategy.
