An NBA reporter advocated that the Cleveland Cavaliers trade Darius Garland to the Orlando Magic.
Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report presented the following trade scenario for the Cavaliers and Magic:
Darius Garland traded for Jalen Suggs and a 2025 first-round selection.
According to NBA insiders Shams Charania, Joe Vardon, and Jason Lloyd of The Athletic, Rich Paul would talk to the Cavaliers about dealing Garland if Donovan Mitchell signs an extension this offseason.
“Furthermore, rival executives believe the Cavs will have to seriously evaluate the fit of Mitchell and Garland and ultimately may have to choose one or the other,” the three authors said. “Should Mitchell decide to stay long term, sources briefed on the matter say Garland’s representation, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, would have a conversation with Cavs officials on potentially finding a new home for the one-time All-Star.”
This season, Garland averaged 18.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 6.5 assists, shooting 44.6% from the field, 37.1% from beyond the arc, and 83.4% from the free throw line. He will earn $36.7 million next season.
“Converting Darius Garland into a bigger and more tenacious defender like Jalen Suggs may make the Cavs a more plausible playoff contender.
Irving and Doncic both scored 33 points in the Mavericks’ 116-107 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, putting them ahead 3-0 in the Western Conference Finals. They went 22-for-40 from the field, 8-for-17 from deep, and had nine assists.
Dallas squandered a double-digit lead in the third quarter, but when the game went close, Irving and Doncic were ready to make a big shot. Sometimes back to back.
