Despite rumors that he could transfer to Manchester United in the summer, Matheus Cunha maintains that he is content at Wolves. The 25-year-old, who was valued at £60 million, is reportedly attracting interest from the Red Devils. He scored 12 goals in the Premier League for the Molineux team the previous year. Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the INEOS group are getting ready for their first window in charge of football operations, and while Erik ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain, United has already been connected to a number of prominent players this summer.
Anthony Martial has left the club already, leaving only Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford as the only recognised senior central strikers in the United squad.
Cunha joined Wolves on loan from Atletico Madrid in January 2023 before making the deal a permanent arrangement for a reported £44m later that summer.
Speaking to Globo Esporte, Cunha said: “My focus is on resting and making the most of my time with my family. I’m very happy at Wolves. The focus now is on having better seasons and helping the club.
“God willing, I’ll continue on this path”.
Standard Sport also understands United are interested in a move for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, who could leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
While Chalobah is keen to stay with his boyhood club, the Blues are prepared to be willing to listen to offers.
The Manchester giants, however, may not go as high as the £25m price tag Chelsea have slapped on the defender.
