On the last day of obligatory minicamp, the Detroit Lions put their offense in difficult positions.
Following two productive days of work, head coach Dan Campbell placed his sights on testing the offensive unit on the final day of veterans’ practice before training camp.
Each situational exercise began with the offense trailing and evaluated the unit’s ability to overcome deficits.
“We’re really gonna just get them loose, and then we’re gonna simulate trying to get two scores under two minutes-type deal,” Campbell stated prior to practice. “We’ve had three timeouts every year. Bigs will not go full pace, but skilled players will. If you’re looking out there and see this guy loafing, tell them to back off.
“This will benefit us in terms of communication, as well as sending these guys off. It has been a pretty good spring. I am proud of those boys. I did not expect anything different from this group. “This group is exactly what we expected.”
