Before Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese played for the third time this season on Sunday, Las Vegas Aces standout A’ja Wilson discussed her rookie season experiences that the two and the rest of their class may benefit from.
Ahead of the highly anticipated matchup between the two emerging stars, ESPN interviewed several WNBA No. 1 overall picks about their rookie experiences and recommendations for the 2024 class.
Wilson, who was the Aces’ first overall pick in 2018, revealed the biggest challenge she had to go through in her first year–something that Clark, Reese and the current rookies are also dealing with right now.
“How quickly games go by. You don’t have time to linger. We didn’t have the best season my rookie year, but I didn’t even have time to think about it because we were just on to the next game. Just the pace of scheduling was an eye-opener for me,” Wilson explained.
