FAYETTEVILLE — The Arkansas baseball team could not make a move in the SEC race Saturday night at Baum-Walker Stadium.
The third-ranked Razorbacks lost 8-5 to 15th-ranked Mississippi State to even their three-game series at one game apiece.
Arkansas (41-10, 18-8 SEC) could have tied Kentucky and Tennessee for the SEC lead with a victory. Instead, the Razorbacks trail those SEC East teams by one game with four games remaining in the regular season.
Because Texas A&M lost for the second consecutive day at Ole Miss, Arkansas maintained its two-game lead over the Aggies in the SEC West. Mississippi State (33-17, 15-11) stayed alive in the division race, three games behind the Razorbacks.
