The Greece national team will compete in the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympic Games without Kostas Antetokounmpo.
Antetokounmpo underwent additional tests by the national team and Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens staff, which showed that the player won’t recover for the Olympic Games because of his knee injury.
During the 2023-24 season, Antetokounmpo averaged 7 minutes, 2.6 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 3.3 PIR per game in 31 EuroLeague appearances for the title-winners Panathinaikos.
The 26-year-old averaged 9 minutes, 3.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.0 EFF per game in 2 Olympic Qualifying tournament appearances for Greece this summer.
Either Nikos Chougkaz or Michalis Lountzis is expected to fill the gap in Greece Olympic roster for the 2024 Paris Olympic basketball tournament.
In the 2024 Paris Olympic basketball tournament, Greece will play an opening game on July 27 against Canada.
